While much of the UP picks up an inch or less of snow, higher totals up to 1-3in will be possible over the far eastern UP. Superior Snowmobile Club >> As our snowmobile season comes to a close, and our grooming comes to an end, we wish to thank our club officers, our groomers, all of the businesses that have supported us, and those riders that came to enjoy our trails and supported our community. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Expect mostly dry weather today through Monday as a cold front exits the U.P. this morning. A few light snow showers will be possible in the higher terrain of the western half through tonight, with minimal accumulations less than an inch. Most locations will struggle to get above freezing today, with the exception of areas near Lake Michigan. Night time temps are still staying below freezing and days looks like it 30s ❄️ The parking lots/plowed areas around here are melting down so where ever you can find snow feel free to park your sled! Here is a update from Tim & Robin who has been here for the last few days (come up throughout the winter) ❄️ North of Houghton yesterday the trails were groomed and in good shape. Thursday we rode north it was beautiful, South of Sidnaw they do get a little more rough. Iron River is where the line is drawn really bad. They are rideable but if they haven’t groomed they’re will be mogal. Some water holes and open dirt on most trails also. But you can hit a really good 10 to 20 miles without dirt or water. ❄️ Thank you for the update!! A cold front then drops across the U.P. and brings another round of mixed precip tonight, changing to all snow towards Sunday morning. Generally expect minimal snow amounts across most of the U.P., but some spots in the Keweenaw and the east could pick up 1-3” through Sunday morning. Ended up doing a video out on the Fire Steel Bridges (I was forced into it). I ran down and met Todd and the gang at The Pit Stop Bar & Grill in Greenland. Then we shot up to Alston. Trails where in pretty good shape early on but like every day was getting rough after 5:00. The reroute on trail 3 in Twin Lakes was brutal. Those aren’t moguls they’re more like small mountains. Lol
Thank you Pat’s Motorsports for getting Todd back on the trail. It would have been a long walk back to Negaunee.
