I had the pleasure of giving some of our guests a tour, and we couldn’t have asked for better conditions. The trails were fantastic! Days like today remind me just how much I love this job! <> <> ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP >> 03/08 We recommend using 137/12 rail grade to access Ontonagon rather than trail 12 down Norwich road. We have ceased grooming the ditch trail detour. Erika Hoffmann caught our crew headed out yesterday afternoon providing these great videos. Be careful of water hazards opening up, but they’ll be navigable. Cold temps last night helped trails freeze in hard during our grooming. This has provided a much-needed refresh to the trails, creating a fantastic base for riding. Trail Conditions: What to Expect: Groomers running regularly, but some trails may still be in progress. This is shaping up to be one of the best weekends for riding this season, so get out and enjoy the fresh powder while it lasts! 3️⃣ Lake of the Clouds – The final stop on today’s ride, and what a view! The perfect way to end an unforgettable tour. Thanks Arthur for taking over the last leg (had to go to back to the office).

Groomers are working tirelessly to catch up with the heavy snowfall. With this much fresh powder, it may take a couple of days to get everything fully packed and smoothed out, but riders can still expect excellent conditions across the Western U.P. Some trails may be a bit soft until grooming efforts are complete, so plan accordingly and ride with caution.
Plenty of fresh snow for great riding.
Watch for deep snow in ungroomed sections and be prepared for changing conditions.
Cold temps should help maintain trail quality in the coming days.

8w to Wakefield was opened up today and is safe to run. You will come across a lot of twiggy brush and wet spots but it is opened up. Follow signs and expect early season conditions. Most of us got that quick burst of 1-2" (locally 3") earlier, and we're already onto the next system - later today!! Fast!
Notice we'll have a distinct rain/ snow line to the south.
Models have all come together nicely. That's a great thing because it lines up with my forecast quite nice. My snow map was posted earlier! Scroll my page!
Some areas are looking at up to 6"of snow.
Rain falling into cold snow pack roads will cause some very slick conditions. Dirt roads, I'm talking to you! You know this already, though haha.
Most treated roads to the south will be ok, though. Anywhere all snow all the time (north of I-96) will be very slow going!

• Watch for parked equipment and crews working on the trail.
• And always remember: the groomer has the right of way.

Trail 1 - Passable from Marenisco to PI. Groomed from Marenisco to Job Corps Rd, will be grooming the remainder soon. Passable and groomed from Marenisco north to the end of FR 8800. Closed from FR 8800 north to Copps Tower Rd
Trail 2 - Groomed and flat through Marenisco and up to the Trail 1 split to PI
Trail 100 - Groomed to Hwy M64 with wet sections. Passable from Hwy M64 to Trail 13 intersection but rocky with still many whips.
Trail 13 - Passable from 100/13 intersection north to Camp 6 Rd but ungroomed and many whips. From Trail 100/13 intersection southeast to the Trail 2/13 intersection is still closed. Waiting for reroute approval.
Long story short, all of our open trails are passable and ready for full grooming this week! It’s snowing now with cold temps and more snow/cold in the forecast!! #lakegogebic #westernup
Today we were successful in opening up 8e to Ewen and it will be groomed over the next few hours. So that makes 3 of our trail segments completely opened up and been groomed including the corridor..
Tomorrow 12-9-25 we are headed over to 8w to Wakefield, wish us luck!!
