WATERSMEET – WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via U.P. Thunder Riders Snowmobile Club >> 02/22 Groomer Update 2/22/25- Unfortunately due to mechanical issues with all our tractors and the warm weather coming we will not be able to groom until further notice. We will update our post when we resume grooming. Everything was groomed yesterday except trail 3 heading to Land O Lakes. <> <> Reports via: U.P. You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
