TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> 02/10 Groomer Jeff went out with trainee Dan on the north trail. He reported that the trails groomed up great. Dan did a great job and is ready for his solo. Groomer Dirk went out on the east run. He reported, after the heavy traffic we had over the weekend, the trails groomed up great and rated them as excellent. Thanks guys for volunteering your time! Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat.
