Newberry Area Trail Report – 02/06
NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Halfway Lake Cottages, LLC >> 02/06 Trail Update 02/06/2025 TASA has been grooming nightly. Last night trails 9 to Holland Lake staging area and 45 to the falls have booth been groomed. There is still some logging going on 45 as you get closer to the falls. Like normal the trail that runs the sides of 123 as you go into town is moguled out. Paradise has been grooming all of their trails including 8 south heading tword Brimly. There still are reports of some open water in the swamp so be careful. Some of the best news is that Curtis area trails have gotten enough snow to be grooming. Reports are good in that area. Until the next report ride safe. <> <> <> <> <> Visit Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association Trail Report <> Visit Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association on Facebook <> Visit Newberry Area Tourism Association on Facebook <> Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report Monday March 9th, 2026 - 10:36 am NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Pine Stump >> Monday 3-9 Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report Monday March 9th, 2026 - 10:22 am WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> A mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain is expected across northern Michigan late Tuesday through Wednesday. Currently it’s 22 degrees and we are under a winter weather advisory. Up to 6 inches expected. It’s been a very snow couple of weeks. Since the 19th of Janurary we have picked up north of 30 inches of snow. Our total for the year is already around 170 inches.
This has been the first year in the last couple where you can pick a direction and go without to much concern. Local businesses needed it so be sure to get up here and do your best to support.Postings From Regional Pages On Facebook

44 degrees this morning under a mostly clear sky. It was sunny and 54 here yesterday and its supposed to be about the same today. We have not run the last couple of days and I can only imagine what our low land trails look like. It is supposed to cool off by the middle of the week and maybe snow a couple inches so I haven`t given up hope. We still have plenty of snow in da woods but the roads are bare around town and the dirt roads we use for trail connecters are all mud. We are having a meeting today and discuss a plan. Just wanted to jump on here and let ya`ll know whats U.P. Stay tuned.

Snow is likely today, March 7th, 2026 on the backside of the low pressure system moving through, while parts of southern Michigan reach the mid-60s today. Most of the snow will fall along the spine of the western Upper Peninsula, where 2-5" of fresh snow is possible in the cornflower blue coloring. 1-3" of snow also possible in nearby Baraga and western Marquette county. A trace to 1" is possible for all areas in white, but most of these areas won't see more than a couple flurries mixed in with light freezing drizzle. Snow should be done by 10 pm EST across the Upper Peninsula.
The rest of the state will be dealing with temperatures in the 40s to 60s with showers and thunderstorms, clearing by late evening. This will set the stage for a mostly sunny Sunday ahead. We got you covered as always right here at Michigan Storm Chasers, no matter the weather. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #petoskey #gaylordWe gained a bunch of new followers here at MSC, so for those who are new here, welcome! 34 degrees this morning with a light rain. I heard it raining most of the night too. My weather station lost signal so I don`t know how much rain we got but I can say enough. It looks like its gonna be on the warm side for the next couple days then cool off and maybe snow so its not over yet folks!!! Here`s what went on yesterday and whats gonna happen today on the trails......
The only trail we hit yesterday was trail #45 to the Falls. Groomer Patrick said it turned out good. Just talked to Da Boss and we decided we are gonna take the next couple days off and see what this weather does. The rain last night really put a damper on our plans. It looks like its gonna hit close to 50 tomorrow too. The good news is we still have a solid 2` on the ground so if we can get by the next few days we`ll still be good. It ain`t over till its over and we`ll keep going till it is!!!!
