KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western UP Trail Reports >> 02/04
Tuesday February 4th 2025
I’ve never seen so many riding on a week day as this year. We just keep getting little dusting of snow almost every night putting us at 197 total for the year. Trails are hanging in there with 4″-6″ base and every bit of 3 foot in the bush.
KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Krupps Resort >> 02/03
Did you know that Copper Range Railroad abandoned the corridor in 1972 and the DNR took over in 1974 allowing us to have the trails for use! Many spots you can see what is left of the mining days! We average 300” a year of snow & we are past half way! There are times I & other have rode sleds into May! Ideal in May, maybe not but still enough to ride haha Trails do close April 1st, tho you can ride trail 3. Krupp’s Resort is open all year long, come visit! 🇺🇸⛄❄ www.kruppsresortmi.com
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Quieter weather settles in across the U.P. today as lingering snow showers tapering off this morning. A weak clipper system will bring another round of light snow tonight, but only expect another inch or so of accumulation in most locations. After another quiet day on Monday, another system brings a mix of rain and snow to the area on Tuesday. #miweather #keweenaw#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsareaQuieter weather settles in across the U.P. today as lingering snow showers tapering off this morning. KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via The Trailside Lodge >> Well… Mother Nature heard us complaining about that warm-up and said absolutely NOT. ❄️ Colder temps and snowy powder falling all day long. Not mad about it. In fact... let’s keep it coming. The sleds are out there having an absolute blast on the trails. And yeah, we’re pretty sure the customers are having fun too… based on the grins (behind the helmets of course), throttle therapy, and lack of urgency to come back 😎 #keweenaw#snowphotosWell… Mother Nature heard us complaining about that warm-up and said absolutely NOT. ❄️

📸 Pic details for the trail detectives: This photo was taken right along Trail #17 between Calumet and Houghton, and those good-looking machines are 3 of our Ski-Doo 600 Backcountries E-TEC's.
🏨 Little bonus perk: Our hotel rooms are located right at the same spot as our rentals. Ride all day, park your sled right at your door, warm up, relax, and repeat. No trailering. No nonsense.
Colder temps, snowy trails, happy sleds, and zero complaints today. Who’s ready to ride? ❄️😏 ... See MoreSee Less

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western UP Trail Reports >> 10 January 2026 Good thing I'm not a meteorologist because I guessed this one pretty bad. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Widespread snow will begin to spread west to east this morning while a heavier snowband looks to set up in the central UP this afternoon. Uncertainty still remains where this snowband will park, however, heavy snowfall rates will likely create difficult travel along US-41 from Delta to Marquette/Alger counties. Tonight, widespread snow transitions to lake effect snow for the north wind snowbelts.
