Good morning, Ontonagon County! Here’s the latest on today’s weather, snowmobile trails, the Porcupine Mountains Ski Area, and Roxey’s Pizza Monday specials:

Current Conditions: Mostly cloudy, 26°F (-3°C)
Forecast: Cloudy with snow showers developing in the afternoon; accumulation of 1-2 inches expected.
High: 30°F (-1°C)
Low: 18°F (-8°C)

🛷 Snowmobile Trail Update
Trail Conditions: As of January 31, 2025, trails in Ontonagon County are in excellent condition, with a solid base and regular grooming. Riders are advised to exercise caution due to today’s anticipated snowfall, which may affect visibility and trail surfaces.

🎿 Porcupine Mountains Ski Area
Status: All 19 runs are open and groomed, with a base depth of 6 inches. The ski area operates Friday through Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, weather permitting. For the latest updates, visit their official website.

Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report

ONTONAGON AREA UPDATE via North Country Snowmobile Club UP >> Groomer Jay is out on trail 12. This recent picture is on his return trip to the groomer barn after doing trail 12 from Greenland to White Pine and back.
Not a single set of sled tracks...trails are setting up nicely with this snow and colder temps.

WEATHER UPDATE via 9&10 News >> 3-15 Winter Storm Update (8PM)
Blizzard Warnings have moved South to include Leelanau, Emmet, Cheboygan, Southeastn Chippewa, Mackinac Island/Bois Blanc, Beaver Island. Ice Storm Warnings have moved South to include Wexford, Missaukee, Oscoda, Alcona and Alpena Counties. Winter Weather Advisories now include Clare, Osceola Counties.
The warm line is farther South keeping higher totals North. Winds continue to pick up along with the snow tonight.

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Potentially historic, record-breaking snowfall between 1 and 3 feet expected across all of Upper Michigan. Highest storm total snow expected in the central and east. Greatest potential for 4 feet is the high terrain of north-central.
