STRAITS AREA UPDATE via Straits Area Snowmobile Club >> 01/18
Saturday January 18th Trail update Yesterday did not do us any favors. We were holding up ok and then the short warm up really took action and it stayed warm well into midnight and now it’s back to 20 degrees. We have been grooming and doing what we can to help the trails. Currently everything is very thin.
There are several areas that are rideable but no good way to make a loop without running into open areas that have rocks and very little snow. We moved a groomer up to Trout Lake last night and did what we could to help the loop around town. We will groom that area again tonight.
Earlier this week several people were able to leave Moran and head north with good results but after yesterday’s weather I would not recommend at this time. As soon as we have better news we will update.
