Just a couple weeks ago it was lake effect snow every single day. Today, a light band of 1-3" near Munising is all we will need to write home about. We even tossed in some humor for those not in a designated snowfall zone. A couple slick spots will pop up along M-28 near Munising, and perhaps around Petoskey if a longer lake effect band happens to form, but this is more unlikely than likely. SAULT STE. Bryan and his son Logan hit the city trails tonight. They stayed off of the last stretch of the Kewadin Trail to help it freeze in more. Here’s what Bryan had to say-
Town went well tonight. Only notable things would be there’s still some wet spots to the high school on 497, all minor and should set up good. I took the trail (449) to kewadin just along the power lines. The power company had removed some cribbing/poles and that left spots right off the trail that drop about 1-2’. I tried to leave enough to have a berm between the trail and the drop. Did quite a bit of brushing! Other than that just a happy boy in the passenger seat!!”

Happy Valentines Day and happy trail stop day!
Turbo and Diane went out very early this morning on their run on parts of 480, 8, and the 889 loop.
Here’s their report-
“Good morning everyone. Love is in the air! What a great way to spend our Valentines Day. I can't think of a more lovely way to treat Mrs. Turbo than to grab the Pisten Bully and groom some trails. All the while jamming out to some good old romantic music. Now for the good stuff. We left around 5:30am, to do the Mission Hill run(trail 889) we had to wait for the temperature to cool down. It got slightly above freezing last night. Passed our first sleds about 7:20. Four young men were up early hitting the trails. Not much has changed on the trails. Still excellent. Perfect riding conditions. Don't forget, it's our annual trail stop at the intersection of 8 and 889 in Raco. Please stop out and support us. Join the Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association if you're not already a member. We also have a donation box. Every little bit helps. Also, make sure you get a cup of our world famous hot cocoa. Make sure you tell them Turbo sent you. We are planning on going home and taking a nap. Have fun. Stay safe. Stay sober.”
