LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming >> 01/12 Good morning.. Bergland Area Groomer’s checking in for Saturday January 11th update. A combination of new snow and heavy traffic made for an extremely long night. Basically on trail’s that generally see the most traffic was a complete reset. Corner’s remain thin and icy! Currently 22° with light snow that started around 10 pm Eastern time. Trails groomed… 13n to Rockland was a complete reset. 8e to Ewen was groomed/panned. Rocks showing through but getting better. 102-again complete reset. Currently have groomers out on 13s and 1n and won’t hear from them until tomorrow afternoon. Thanks everyone. We are gonna rest and back at it again tomorrow! It’s in pretty decent condition overall with the recent snow. Groomed from Copps Tower Rd all the way down to Presque Isle. Trail 100 was also groomed today, it’s a bit rough and icy but rideable. All of the NCSC trail system was groomed in the last 24 hours!!
Conditions range from poor around Silver City along Lake Superior in The Porkies to excellent at higher elevations in The Porkies and Trapp Hills.
There is still a deep indentation between South Boundary Road and The Porkies Ski Hill.
The water holes along Trail #12 between Ontonagon and Greenland are filled. Mother Nature can change up quick so ride that area with caution.

All trail's were covered today/ tonight. Conditions continue to improve and trail's are locked in tight.

Wyatt pushed trees/brush and filled water holes on Trail #12 between Trail #137 and Greenland.
For early season it came out pretty good.
Please use caution on this trail.
We sure could use some more snow within a couple miles of the big lake!

Trail #12 from our shop in Ontonagon to Potato Farm Road road was groomed Tuesday afternoon and is in early season riding condition.
Trail #12 from Potato Farm Road to White Pine was groomed last night and is in good condition, stay on the trail!
Trail #13 from the junction of Trail #137 was groomed early this morning by Steve from Team Hamilton's North Coast Adventures and is in very good condition.
Trail #1 from White Pine to Silver City was hit by our tractor and is in very good condition.
Trail #1 from Silver City to The Porkies Ski Hill was "groomed", it has very little snow and is bumpy. There is one large indentation between South Boundary Road and the ski Hill with water in the bottom. It is passable and hopefully completely frozen over with our cold temps last night.
Ride between Silver City and the ski Hill with caution.
Trail#1 from the ski Hill to Lake of the Clouds was hit last night and is in very good condition.
Trail #11 (South Boundary Road) from the big lake to Trail #102 was groomed and is in very good condition.
Trail #12 from Trail #137 to Greenland is back to post storm condition with overhanging trees/brush and open water holes.
We will attempt to open it up and fill today. One water hole is all but impassable, please use an alternate route

We are unfortunately down one machine. The Tucker is down until we get a new track.
Good news is we have Carter and Jeremiah spending their New Year’s out grooming.
Trail 2 from the Wisconsin/Michigan boarder to Marenisco. We heard from a club member that trail 2 through Morgan Mine is holding up so we will hit that another night!
Trail 8 will also get done!
11s is still unsafe for any groomer to go down. PLEASE ride with caution!

Also - 906 Services Inc. is pulling a sled out of this waterhole as I post this. Last week's warm-up wrecked the ice bridge we built and there is no bypass around the water.

Trail 1-Groomed smooth heading south between Trail 2 and Presque Isle. A few branches and whips but getting better. Trail 1 between Marenisco and Trail 100 same condition. Trail 1 heading west and north from the 1/100 intersection is still closed due to logging.
Trail 2-Groomed and smooth through Marenisco to the groomer turnaround.
Trail 13-Rerouted from the 13/100 intersection to head north to Camp 6 road and then east/southeast to the Trail 13/2 intersection. Groomed and fairly smooth with a couple water hole/hazard section. Also a few sections with many low branch’s/whips so use caution. Trail 13 is closed heading southeast from the 13/100 intersection due to logging and has not been groomed or brushed.
Trail 100-Groomed and pretty smooth with a couple of minor rough sections and one minor water hole. Some low branches/whips but overall in good condition for this time of the year.
