CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort – 01/10 Hello- Things are improving a little today, with some snow showers and more moisture in the snow. Significant snow event is possible for Sunday-Wednesday, with expected accumulation of 4-8”. Still no grooming, with some more base still needed to work with. Pop-Up Karaoke tonight in Coyote bar, starting at 9 PM. Some sleds are definitely riding, as shown in current Friday picture. Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. The clipper moving through today may produce a quick squall of rain & snow with minimal accumulation some time beyond 1 pm EST, but models haven't determined if this band will solidify or not. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise. Rough weather earlier this week brought some rain, but the trails survived! Icy base stayed intact and there's still good coverage. The 1-2" of fresh snow on top gave some for lubrication, but still tough to keep your sled cool. Another 4-6" of snow is needed to get trails back in good shape. #cadillac
