PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Town Hall Snowmobile Club Paradise MI – 11/27
Alrighty folks. Groomer Chris here still alive and back in the saddle for another season. It looks like I better get the trail reports rolling early this year!!! I haven`t seen this much snow this early in a very long time. I`ve got a solid 8" here at my place and I`ve seen reports of a foot plus outside of town. It looks like this weather pattern will last for at least a week with cold temps and lots of lake effect snow to come!!! I got a good feeling for this season!!!!! Mother Nature sure does owe us.
We are ready to go. We have our sunk groomer (remember) back from the manufacturer with a brand new engine and the other 2 machines are good to go. The brushing and signing is about wrapped up on the high ground. All we need is Mother Nature to continue to cooperate and this season is gonna be awesome!!!!
Just thought I would jump on here to see if I remember how to do this stuff and let ya`ll know we are still here. Keep checking back for the most honest trail reports for the Paradise area.
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Groomer Chris

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> The end of November and beginning of December have been quite snowy! Thanks to our colleagues at the Grand Rapids office for putting this map and post together. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsareaThe warm Great Lakes and cold atmosphere teamed up for a week after Thanksgiving to deliver heaps of lake effect snow. New snow measured daily amounted to over 4 feet in parts of Northern Michigan. Some places saw 1 to 2 feet of snow fall in a day. Usually, lake effect snow is rather fluffy, but even so, this amount of snow up north settled into a good 2-foot base of snowpack. In southwest Michigan, mainly southwest of Grand Rapids, snow totals were around 1 to 2 feet, though a fair amount of it would settle and melt into the ground days later. Less than 6 inches of snow was more typical in Mid and Southeast Michigan. ... See MoreSee Less
GRAND MARAIS AREA UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. >> GMSTA trail boss Al here, we will not be grooming for the next couple days due to rain and warm temperatures. I've talked with a couple of snowmobilers earlier today and they said trails were holding up fairly decent. We hope the weather turns cold this coming week so we can get out and prep the trails for the upcoming weekend. Please be aware that there are several water holes throughout the trail system. Please try to avoid running through them as that will only delay us getting the trails back into riding shape. We ask for patience and understanding as we deal with typical Michigan weather. #grandmarais#newberry... See MoreSee Less

SENEY AREA UPDATE via Seney Snowmobile Association >> Trail 431 update a couple of small water holes by Trail 9. Rest of the trail is grooming out real nice. Do not use the swamp trail out of Seney it’s not frozen. Use the trail along M-77 for now. That is trail 440. It still has some uneven areas we are trying to get it level so use caution on that. Trails are starting to take great shape. #seney #newberry#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> A band of snow will press into the Keweenaw this morning. This will result in hazardous driving conditions for this morning's commute. Make sure to take it slow and drive with your headlights on!
