New snow measured daily amounted to over 4 feet in parts of Northern Michigan. Some places saw 1 to 2 feet of snow fall in a day. Usually, lake effect snow is rather fluffy, but even so, this amount of snow up north settled into a good 2-foot base of snowpack. In southwest Michigan, mainly southwest of Grand Rapids, snow totals were around 1 to 2 feet, though a fair amount of it would settle and melt into the ground days later. SENEY AREA UPDATE via Seney Snowmobile Association >> Trail 431 update a couple of small water holes by Trail 9. Rest of the trail is grooming out real nice. Do not use the swamp trail out of Seney it’s not frozen. Use the trail along M-77 for now. That is trail 440. It still has some uneven areas we are trying to get it level so use caution on that.
