HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 11/25
We woke up to a dusting of snow today & it looks like there’s more on the way. We are hopeful that this season will be better than last few. Bring on the snow!
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> A wintry system will bring a shot of rain and snow to areas tonight. Dividing line between rain and snow appears to be M-32 in northern lower tonight, with a couple inches of snow over the eastern UP by morning. The dividing line should move a bit further north Monday, with the chance for a wintry mix or even a light glaze of ice for the eastern UP…though most areas will try to transition to rain or drizzle by afternoon, before snow returns late Monday night. Roads could become sloppy with the snowmelt and rain on top of the snow…and overnight lows tonight could fall below freezing, leading to the potential for surfaces to refreeze. #miweather #gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskeyA wintry system will bring a shot of rain and snow to areas tonight. HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club >> We got roughly 3” of snow yesterday with a few more coming today. We started panning on Thursday & depending on the night time temperatures will resume tonight or tomorrow night. We are off to a great start for the season but please remember that it’s early season conditions, we don’t have enough snow to fill in all the ruts, cover all the rocks, and the water holes are still open and deep. Ride safe out there! ⚠️ Loggers have plowed trail 705, Moose Jaw Road, and part of 704, Teal road, so avoid these areas (See map below in red). If you’re traveling to Moose Jaw Junction you’ll want to take trail 71 straight to 704, & turn onto 721. #harborsprings#petoskey#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Another clipper system will bring another round of accumulating snow to parts of the eastern UP into the Tip of the Mitt region today. This system will be milder, though, with the expectation that most areas will transition to a wintry mix or all rain this afternoon. This snow will also be more wet and dense than recent snowfall for the region, which will be trickier to drive in and also trickier to move and shovel. Be sure to leave extra time for your travels today! #miweather #gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskeyAnother clipper system will bring another round of accumulating snow to parts of the eastern UP into the Tip of the Mitt region today. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> 1st Graphic: More accumulating snow for some overnight, but mainly tomorrow (Saturday). 2nd Graphic: Some mild temperatures will be settling in for the weekend. The warmer readings will combine with some additional clippers over the next several days, to keep the weather unsettled...and precipitation mixed at times. Check out the graphics for details...and stay "weather aware" if you're traveling this weekend. Conditions (and forecasts) can turn on a dime in Northern Michigan in the winter...especially when the temperature is flirting around the freezing mark. #miweather #gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskey... WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> A weak clipper system moving through today will bring another one to perhaps three inches of snow to the typical snowbelts of northern Michigan. Another clipper moving in Saturday could bring some accumulating wet dense snow to the Tip of the Mitt and eastern UP, along with the threat for a wintry mix or rain…with patchy fog hanging out into Sunday before the next system brings a wintry mix to the region late Sunday into Monday. #miweather #gaylord#cadillac#traversecity#petoskeyA weak clipper system moving through today will bring another one to perhaps three inches of snow to the typical snowbelts of northern Michigan.
