Gaylord Bureau – February 27, 2024 – 8:53 a.m. The snowmobile trails have melted away, making them unsuitable for riding. We will keep you updated on any additional changes to the weather. Please check back for updates and trail conditions. ** Please remember that groomers have the right of way and kindly move off the trail so they can safely proceed. If you approach a groomer from behind, the operator will signal when it’s safe for you to pass. It howling and blowing outside and just barely a little white out there. I was up at 5 this morning and it was just wet with slight rain out there. What a winter. Every night at 11 Camp Grayling plays taps and it was so calm last night I could hear it while I was laying in bed. So it went from very calm to very windy very fast. The pics below are from saturday in Frederic at the SWamp and Frederic Inn. Low visibilities will be possible for a few hours, especially in eastern upper Michigan, right around morning drive time. Accumulations will be less than 2 inches; places near and south of M-32 will see little if any accumulation. Milder temperatures will be seen Wednesday and Thursday, especially in northern lower Michigan. Snow and rain chances will increase, and mostly rain is forecast for Thursday.
