HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 02/26
What a rollercoaster of a winter, if we can even call it that at this point. So far we’ve had maybe 2 1/2 weeks of rideable snow & while there is more snow on the way Wednesday we are only supposed to get 1-3”. Unfortunately that will not be enough to get back out on the trails & temperatures will be in the 60’s by this weekend. The ground hog wasn’t kidding when he said spring would be early.
Even though we can’t ride there’s still plenty of fun to be had, our sponsors always have somethig going on!
State Road Provisions, Rusty Saw North, & Vernales are participating in Restaurant Week, running until this Sunday. Check out their pages to view their specials.
Beach’s Up North Tavern is hosting a Squirrel Hunt on Saturday, check out their page for more details. Don’t forget to stop into Chubbs Marina & Market to get your ammo.
Spanky’s Powersports has some great sales on winter gear, stop in & check it out.
Rusty Saw North is hosting a Breakfast Buffet for the club on Sunday. $20 all you can eat from 9-11am.
Odawa Casino is always a fun stop in Petoskey or Mackinaw, try your luck on some slots or table games.
Take a drive up the lakeshore & stop into The Village Mart – Cross Village General Store, they’re always cooking up something good, & have plenty plenty of snacks for the ride.

WEATHER UPDATE via Meteorologist Brad Sugden >> SNOW TIME! Posted (Jan 11 2pm). A clipper system comes in Sunday with impacts lasting into Monday. This is SNOW POTENTIAL Sunday AND Monday. Don't come at me 9am Sunday morning and say "where's my snow." lol. As you can see the effects of this will vary GREATLY depending on where you are in the state. We go from up to 1" for most areas in the light blue to about 1-3" at best for most of the Lower Peninsula. The west side gets more because of a quick shot of lake effect with gusty winds and cold temperatures. The U.P. is the bread winner here with the center of the low pressure hanging out over Lake Superior for a bout 24hrs. That will cause more lift which we need for snow to develop along with more lake effect due to strong winds and VERY cold air. It'll be a fluffy snow that piles up rather quick. Winds will be very strong as times with a lot of cold air pouring in by Monday morning. Expect some areas in West Michigan to have wind chills as cold as -5 with the Western U.P. having wind chills as cold as -20. BRR! TIMING is posted on my page a post or two down. Please go there and scroll down. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskeySNOW TIME! Posted (Jan 11 2pm).
