KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via The U.P. Superior Snowmobile Club – 01/23 Good morning! Groomer Mike H. reporting: Trail 3 south from Twin Lakes to Mass City groomed up very nicely last night with moderate snowmobile traffic. Groomer Jim reporting on Trail 13 from Greenland to Rockland yesterday. The trail groomed up nicely considering the conditions (meaning thin snow). The wet spots are now filled in. Just not looking good at all that way. Every year we get a warm up for a few days. Mid 30's and low 40's will definitely make it a little sloppy and most likely moguled up by Sunday. My guess is that we will pause grooming during this time and it's going to get rough. By Wednesday night into Thursday the temps will drop and we can possibly resume grooming but it'll take a couple day's to fix the mess.
Keep in mind I ride in 40°-50° days most of April and the trails hold up pretty good.

Lake effect snow showers and gusty winds could lead to some rapidly changing visibility on the roads through tonight, especially close to Lake Superior and in the Keweenaw.
