Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/21

1/21/24

17 degrees this morning under a partly cloudy sky. I got about an inch and a half of fluff on my deck from last night. Here`s how things went yesterday and whats gonna happen today……

Groomer Keith and new guy Christopher headed out on the Pine Stump trail #8. Keith called it all in all good shape but with a few thin spots.

I ran the South trail #8 past the river mouth and will say the same.

Today, groomer Mike C. is going into the swamp south of town and work on that. Me and groomer Patrick are going to sign up the town trail.

Thats all I know…….LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Groomer Chris

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> We groomed 9 45 and the south trail down to H40 Trout Lake last night. It was the best we could do considering the condition were a little warm, but we did get it knocked down and it looked decent from the looks of the temperature tonight we should be back in full swing after that. #newberryWe groomed 9 45 and the south trail down to H40 Trout Lake last night. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> A pair of systems will bring a wintry mix of precipitation to the U.P. today into tonight. A clipper will spread a mix of rain, snow, and freezing rain across the area this morning, changing to all rain from west to east as temperatures climb above freezing in the afternoon, reaching as high as the mid 50s in the west. A cold front then drops across the U.P. and brings another round of mixed precip tonight, changing to all snow towards Sunday morning. Generally expect minimal snow amounts across most of the U.P., but some spots in the Keweenaw and the east could pick up 1-3” through Sunday morning. A glaze of ice will also be possible in a few spots this morning and again tonight. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #marquette #munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsareaA pair of systems will bring a wintry mix of precipitation to the U.P. today into tonight. PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 3/21/26
31 degrees this morning and cloudy. Not much more to report on the weather U.P. here. Here`s what has been happining on the trails......
Groomer Dave ran trail #8 south of town, skipping the swamp of course, and called it good. He did crack the ice on the big holes on the south end of the power line. We will run it again Sunday but if we break through that ice we will be done with that trail. The one hole can get 3' deep. I got one VERY important thing to mention on this trail. We have the swamp section ribboned off with caution tape cause the gate is buried in snow. Some JERK(S) ripped down this ribbon and rode thru. We redid it now but this act was VERY dangerous. If somebody just followed your tracks and got stuck in there it could have been serious. PLEASE respect the roped off trails!!!!!!
Today we are gonna run the Pine Stump trails #8 & #9 and the Point trails #452 & #453. For the rest of the season we are gonna run trails as the weather allows. Some good news is we have our 3rd machine up and runnin again!!!!
All fer now. Get yer bunnies U.P. here for one last ride, still lots of snow in da woods!!!!!
