Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/07
PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Town Hall Snowmobile Club Paradise MI – 01/07 Today’s play. Went out for a few hours and ran the point loop and some logging roads. Great day all in all, definitely need more snow as some spots are very thin with rocks and small tree branches. <> 1/7/24 It is 26 degrees this morning and cloudy. Supposed to get an inch or so today. It snowd and blowd all day yesterday. Its hard to say how much snow we got cause it was so windy but I`ll say 4-6″ easy. Got good news so read on…… We came up with a plan so here it is. Today we are taking 2 machines with 4 guys and hittin the Falls trail #45. We are also taking our other machine with 2 guys and hittin the Point trails #452 & #453. We are going out to pack them down and break up the water holes. We break up the water holes cause it helps them re-freeze thicker and harder and faster when we can push some snow in them. Tomorrow we are gonna take 2 machines and 4 guys and head south and do the same. It looks like we are gonna have a couple “storms” roll thru next week. Lets all hope and pray this holds true. If it does we may be riding in a week!!!! Keep checking back and I`ll let ya`ll know how today and tomorrow went. Light snow will accompany the front but generally less than an inch is expected. Behind the front temperatures will fall into the single digits above and below zero. This combined with gusty winds will bring wind chills down into the teens and twenties below zero. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for Gogebic and Iron counties tonight through Saturday morning. Lake effect snow will develop behind the front in the northwest wind snowbelts with several inches expected. Things are looking up!! It’s been below freezing for over a week now, and we’re getting an inch or two a day on the ground with what looks like a big storm on the way!!
Haven’t heard much from the groomers, but I’ve been told that they’ve been busting their butts working on the swamps!! Without that heavy blanket of snow we usually have this time of year, the swamps have a way better chance of freezing up fast!!
We can’t wait to see you!! Book your rooms now before they fill up at the Magnuson Grand Lakefront, Paradise!!

10 degrees this morning and cloudy. Mother Nature FINALLY blessed us with a good dumping of snow! We have picked up a solid foot or more in the last 36 hrs. and its been COLD.
Following up from my last report......the tech did finally make it out and went through our computer problems on all 3 machines. 2 of them are up and runnin good now and we just got the parts we need for the third one and that will be good to go today. Now, on to whats been happinin with the trails......
Yesterday we took 2 machines with 4 guys but no drags and headed south on trail #8. We skipped the swamp just south of town and started at the river mouth. We ran across just some minor water holes at the south end of the power line and a touch more severe in the Federal Forest section. We kept the gates closed in the Federal Forest section to give that a chance to tighten up.
Tomorrow we are gonna send the same set up around the Point Trails #452 & #453. The other machine will hit the Pine Stump trail #8 doing a full groom. After we see how all that goes we will hit the Falls trail #45 hopefully by the end of the week. I`m sure ya`ll have seen we have a slight warm up coming this Tues. for a couple days so that will dictate what we do on the Falls trail and the Swamp south of town.

So ya, took off at 6 all cognetoie thinking I'd just focus and pay attention to the task at hand tonight but see we've been spotted, evidence from several places were out here, could be the lights, it is orange, dunno but it didn't work! 😂
Anyway, 4th season playing with one of these and I can tell you it's been a perfect storm 😁 of continuous snow, temps, and all of you working with us to leave the snow on the corners for us to squish, ( See how wide and Flat they're building up!!) I just turned south at Wolf Inn, if we get this 7" Carl Bonac says "anything close to the Soo" , that's us right? 😉 we could used it but is pretty awesome right now, no complaints here! Actually belive this keeps up, we will make the cover of Better Cabins & Trails this year 😎
