MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 03/29
As it sits, the 2 day grooming extension granted by the DNR to all eligible clubs, does not help our club as our permits and our agreements end on the 31st. I cannot guarantee that landowners will keep the gates open, but I can guarantee that if people do not respect the stay on trail signs, any possibility of the property owners keeping the gates open after the season will never happen again. Ride smart, ride right, and ride safe!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County Sorva – 03/29
GROOMING UPDATE – DNR ALLOWS EXTENDING GROOMING – thru this weekend. We are getting some snow today. (inch or two) More hitting this evening. Weather guessers are saying anywhere from 1 to 10 inches. Ha Time will tell…. We will be grooming when and where it makes sense. Low traffic this time of year. The trails really hold up. You just have to be prepared to ride some asphalt and a little dirt here and there. Mainly going in to town or gas stations. If this predicted storm pans out it should make for some great late season trail riding. Trails are being reported as flat and good late season conditions. Watch for hidden treasures as the melt down has exposed some obstacles. 417 – good shape staying flat. Grooming 418 West towards AuTrain and 417 Junction – Low to no snow – gravel in areas. Not being groomed. Water Holes. 419 between Wetmore and Munising -Low snow no longer being groomed 8 North of Shingleton -Low snow in areas. Use caution in swamp areas. Grooming 8 7/8 8 – Still a good base and has been grooming out nice. Grooming 7 North – Little thin closer to xmas. Grooming 7 South – Still holding up. Further south closer to 440 you might hear some gravel. Grooming 422 Miners – H58 road section is bare pavement.

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Good morning everyone. Michigan is going to showcase all seasons for today, March 26th, 2026. ... #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskeyGood morning everyone. Michigan is going to showcase all seasons for today, March 26th, 2026. If you're heading north of M-55, a wintry mix will greet you. Snow totals of an inch, perhaps more will be possible, and a snow map will be out in a bit to showcase totals on a statewide basis. Meanwhile, summer is here temporarily as showers and storms move in by late afternoon south of Grand Rapids and Flint. High temperatures will be in the 60s, and even low-70s, especially south of I-94. More warmth means more fuel for storms though, so on a day like today, you should be rooting against warmer high temperatures to avoid severe weather. Speaking of temperatures, just an insane gradient from north to south. High temperatures in the low-20s for the Keweenaw Peninsula, while areas just south of the Michigan state line jump to near 80°F. Precipitation will start early up north, while southern Michigan doesn't start seeing shower activity until afternoon. More details to come in a bit on our severe weather, but the peak timing along and south of I-94 for severe weather will be after 3 pm EDT. Main severe weather hazard today will be very large hail, so it's probably a good idea to protect your valuables today if you're in the southern two rows of counties, just out of an abundance of caution. Bare with us today, it's a lot of information, but we've got you covered from beginning to end.
If you're new to Michigan Storm Chasers, follow us on Facebook, YouTube, X, or Twitch TV, for live severe weather coverage once the first warning is issued in the state.
