LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 03/18 Your weekend update…. Currently around 18° partly sunny. Snow squalls tapered off mid to late morning today. We’ve received anywhere from 28" to 30"+ of new snow.. Yikes it’s deep. Our entire system was covered last night into today but nothing is perfect by any means. The trails will have to be hit several times before we get that good packed trail. 102 had the drag dropped at the bottom and was reset with Bully only.. We are very close to being done grooming for the season.
We now have the Groomer Trackers installed and working on our groomers.
Conditions vary on our trails, from good in most places to fair in other areas. Where trail 3 and 8 are together on the old RR grade is the worst, heavy traffic on this stretch takes it’s toll.
Tickets are being issued by Law Enforcement officers for not stopping at STOP signs.
We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allows. There may be unforeseen circumstances that prevent us from going out, like a major blizzard and being snowed in at our homes or equipment breakdowns..
