Grand Marais Trail Report – 03/16
GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 03/16 Due to the warm temperatures we did not groom last night and will not be grooming tonight. The trail into town is poor. We recommend trailering. Grooming will resume as soon as the temperatures drop, which looks like sometime early tomorrow. <> <> Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. on Facebook >>>> <> Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report Thursday February 19th, 2026 - 10:19 am NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Pine Stump >> 2-19 Michigan Snowmobile Trail Report Thursday February 19th, 2026 - 9:36 am CURTIS AREA UPDATE via Curtis Area Trail Association >> #curtis #newberry #snowphotos ... 25 degrees this morning and its been very windy for the last 24 hrs. We did get some snow yesterday but its hard to tell how much cause of the wind. "They" are calling for a bunch more tomorrow too. It looks like our temps U.P. here will stay in the high 20`s to low 30`s for the next several days so we`ll still be in GREAT shape!
As far as the trails go we are in GREAT shape too. All 3 machines are running GREAT and we will be grooming almost around the clock for the weekend. You see the key word here?
So.......long story short......COME ON U.P.!
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, we're not out here in an attempt to create ribbons, we're here to fix holes and make as flat as possible before it all sets up, because when it does, this stuff will become cement. I should add then, Cement IS OUR GOAL, it has a tendency to stay put, anything less, temps near 30, just thrown off the trail right after we pass and there goes 14+ man hours and 80-90 gallons Diesel in very short order, we're not hooked up with USAID or ActBlue so we're kinda fussy about where we spend our limited funds. 😁
10.3 miles to first stop sign today.
Its heavy hard pushing stuff, it is laying flat, is rolling on blade, am able to roll the high side of curves, just cant dig too deep yet.
Rumors is I'll have fresh snow to blend in on the way back, may have an opportunity to make you all proud yet, but I have a hunch there's worst is yet to come 😉
Quite busy out here! I'll keep you posted.

Windy Corners done, not pretty at all, but flat as a sponge, looks like one too! 2" new snow, you wont see anything but but pretty trail at least to here, I hear its going to get progressively worse as I go, not much else to do but deal with it, takes nothing but time and fuel.
Keep you posted, Pine Stump bound! #newberry #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
