LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 03/09 Couple thing’s to note is there’s fuel in White Pine The Konteka. Fuel also available at American inn in Silver City. Also in Bergland and Gogebic Lodge. All places are easily accessible and no grinding carbides or over heating issues. We are Grooming all trails this evening and will provide a full update tomorrow. <> Full crew headed out tonight will report back in the morning with a full and accurate update..Happy Snowmobiling from the Great White North <> Your Tuesday morning trail update. 4 to 5" of wet snow fell yesterday which made for great trail packing snow. Starting to sound like a broken record.. Our trail system is in good to very good condition!! Had an individual stop me and compliment how nice 13n has been, he even showed me video. That makes us feel great. Good job Steve. Trails covered 102, 1n 13n, 8w and 8e and 13s are being groomed as I type this. There are logging operations happening about two miles west of Kenton, use caution.
We are grooming our regular schedule, every day.
The trails are excellent.
Please ride on the RIGHT side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs!
Stay on the trail, if you don’t we could lose trail permissions on private property.
Groomers have the right of way on the trails, pull over and stop to let them safely pass!
We have Groomer Tracker installed in our groomers.
We groom every day that the weather conditions and equipment allow. Unforeseen circumstances may prevent us from going out, like a major blizzard and being snowed in at our homes or equipment breakdowns. #westernup

Our west winds kick up to the 30-40 mph range later tonight. Prior to that happening, a northwest wind will batter some lake effect areas with an additional 1-3" this afternoon, with pockets of 4"+ possible. As we move into Tuesday, a widespread blanket of 2-5", with pockets of 4-8" will overtake the Lake Michigan shoreline, eastern UP, and Keweenaw Peninsula. Temperature difference between water and air, plus adequate lift will fuel lake effect all the way through Wednesday morning. Additionally, we have a clipper moving through on Tuesday that will bring isolated pockets of 1-3" to the east side. Most locations should still be beneath an inch, however, too many variables are in play to not mention it.
Travel will be impacted along and west of US-131, with minor travel impacts all the way over to the US-127 corridor (I-75 north of Grayling). The clipper will be swinging through with the initial push of gusty winds after midnight tonight through 10 am Tuesday morning. 😵💫It just isn't stopping! We can't say this enough, the current snowmobile trail conditions in our corner of the U.P. are the best they have been in 5+ years.
🤯Trail crews from North Country Snowmobile Club UP did a number on the system over the weekend. They widened and straightened trails, filled tons of holes/depressions to level riding areas out. Just spectacular work! We did a 7 hour volunteer groomer run across nearly 60 miles of their system last night to help out. Trails were found to be in amazing shape, seriously come and enjoy whats here!! Traffic is tremendously low!!

13s and 8e were groomed overnight and are in excellent condition. This morning we have a machine headed up 102 and 8w then 13n and 1n will be covered tonight. Cold temp's continue to keep trail conditions in really good shape.
We also have a new addition to the fleet.. "The Dubie".
Been awhile since we've pulled one but remember why we fell in love once you get used to them again. They flat out crush the bumps and leave a finish perfectly.

4 of us started out from Scott's Superior Inn and Cabins today with Lake of the Clouds as a POI in mind. 2 of us made it, and we were lucky to follow and see 2 Groomers from North Country Snowmobile Club UP several times along the way! (2 returned back to Scott's safely)
