MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County Sorva – 3/8 TRAIL REPORT, Wdenesday, March 8, 2023 6:00 a.m. GREAT LATE SEASON RIDING CONTINUES! No significant changes. No new snow with trails grooming out nicely and in an overall good to very good condition. Some icy inside corners may develop throughout the day near Christmas and in the hills of Trail 419 closer to Munising. North end of Trail 7 also has icy corners. Trail 418 has some wet/icy areas East of Au Train and gravely areas near and West of Au Train. Bare roads and dirty snow near towns. Keep a close eye on trail conditions as you ride and stay right. Trail groomed out well, but the temps and sun are making everything wet and soft. Welcome to late season conditions. We will groom as long as we can, but we already have dirt starting to show in a couple areas. We don’t have our usual amount of base so the trail won’t last like it usually does. Blizzard Warnings have moved South to include Leelanau, Emmet, Cheboygan, Southeastn Chippewa, Mackinac Island/Bois Blanc, Beaver Island. Ice Storm Warnings have moved South to include Wexford, Missaukee, Oscoda, Alcona and Alpena Counties. Winter Weather Advisories now include Clare, Osceola Counties.
The warm line is farther South keeping higher totals North. Winds continue to pick up along with the snow tonight.
