Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 03/07
LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 03/07 Crews out last night and this morning making the trails around Marenisco smooth again. It’s a bit of a struggle with the new heavy wet snow but we had nice freezing temps last night so everything should have set up nicely. Trails 1S from Fishtales to Presque Isle and Trails 100 and 13S to trail 2 are in very good condition. We are starting to see the effects of the sun and melting snow in open and wet areas but it’s still pretty minor. Get out and ride if you can, getting short in the season!! <> Your Tuesday morning trail update. 4 to 5" of wet snow fell yesterday which made for great trail packing snow. Starting to sound like a broken record.. Our trail system is in good to very good condition!! Had an individual stop me and compliment how nice 13n has been, he even showed me video. That makes us feel great. Good job Steve. Trails covered 102, 1n 13n, 8w and 8e and 13s are being groomed as I type this. Blizzard Warnings have moved South to include Leelanau, Emmet, Cheboygan, Southeastn Chippewa, Mackinac Island/Bois Blanc, Beaver Island. Ice Storm Warnings have moved South to include Wexford, Missaukee, Oscoda, Alcona and Alpena Counties. Winter Weather Advisories now include Clare, Osceola Counties.
The warm line is farther South keeping higher totals North. Winds continue to pick up along with the snow tonight.
