NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Pine Stump – 3/03 It’s going to be another good weekend of riding!! <> NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA – 3/02 March 2, 2023 We groomed north to holland lake, and cut river last night. We plan to groom to trout lake, noter to trail 431 and the falls tonight. We are down one groomer, currently waiting for parts that are hopefully going to be here today. It is currently 25 degrees and cloudy, it snowed about an inch last night. In other news we are raffling off a a 2023 Polaris Sportsman 450 Donated by Renze Power Sports. Tickets can be purchased from: Renze Power Sports, Halfway Lake Cottages, North Store Follow Me Outfitters, Pine Stump Restaurant, Schubach Farms Cabin Rentals, or Proceeds will go to fund trail grooming equipment! Good Luck! Trail 9: Groomed to holland lake and back. Reported as very good. Logging be operations are finished and county roads 415 and 422 are now being groomed but snow is still a bit thin. very good. Trail 498: Groomed last night. Very Good. Trail 45: Did not Groom to the falls last night, because of mechanical issues with groomer. very Good. There is logging on the trail shortly after you jump on Trail 45 just past the Logging museum off of M-123. There is also be logging about 3 miles North of Skyline Road off to the right. Please use extreme caution in these areas! Both portions are being plowed and could be bumpy or rutted. Very Good in spots Trial 9/2: Groomed last night to cut river. Conditions being reported as very good. Thank you to all the team at the groomers barn who puts in countless hours to keep the system groomed and maintenance on the machines! Most of us got that quick burst of 1-2" (locally 3") earlier, and we're already onto the next system - later today!! Fast!

Some areas are looking at up to 6"of snow.
Rain falling into cold snow pack roads will cause some very slick conditions. Dirt roads, I'm talking to you! You know this already, though haha.
Most treated roads to the south will be ok, though. Anywhere all snow all the time (north of I-96) will be very slow going!

16 degrees this morning with a light snow falling. We haven`t been gettin the snow some of the surrounding areas have. We have about a foot on the ground, plus or minus, depending on where your at and the ground is just starting to freeze, which is the biggest thing we need! It has been chilly and we have been gettin a little snow bout every day and it looks like it will stay that way....lets cross our fingers. Here`s the scoop on whats been happinin` out at da barn.....
After a problem free run last year with the machines we started out not so hot this year. When we fired them up this fall all 3 machines started to yell at us.....beeping and flashing codes all over the place....darn computers anyhow! We did get one machine to clear but the other 2 won`t. The tech is supposed to come out this week and check them out. This is one reason we haven`t been out other than settin the town trail. We still have a TON of water on the trails at this time also. The Falls trail #45, the south trail #8 (of course) and even sections of the Point trails #452 and #453. I did see a nasty rescue run with sleds stuck in a big water hole on the Falls trail....so don`t even think about going around the gates on that trail or the swamp trail south of town!!! By the looks of the weather forecast things should start to tighten up soon, just be patient.
I`ll start gettin on here more when we start making progress but for now we are in a holding pattern till we get the machines looked at and the water starts draining off.
