KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 2/26 Where are YOU riding this weekend? Andy Deren & crew couldn’t have planned their backpack trip from Phelps, Wisconsin to Copper Harbor and back any better! Last weeks fresh snowfall really helped get trails all over back in great shape! Andy shared these photos and details of their trip with us…. “2nd annual Great Water Garage Crew snowmobile trip is in the books! Phelps, WI to Copper Harbor, MI backpack trip was a great time! 550 miles total! We broke trail Thursday morning with 10 inches of fluff through Watersmeet! That was a major highlight. We arrived in Copper Harbor Thursday night and stayed at the The Mariner North. We enjoyed some popular stops along the way. Ran into the groomer recovery Friday morning heading back on trail 3 and meet some of the groomers – thank you for all they do! Blizzard Warnings have moved South to include Leelanau, Emmet, Cheboygan, Southeastn Chippewa, Mackinac Island/Bois Blanc, Beaver Island. Ice Storm Warnings have moved South to include Wexford, Missaukee, Oscoda, Alcona and Alpena Counties. Winter Weather Advisories now include Clare, Osceola Counties.
The warm line is farther South keeping higher totals North. Winds continue to pick up along with the snow tonight.
