Lake Gogebic Trail Report – 02/23
LAKE GOGEBIC AREA UPDATE via Gogebic Area Grooming – 02/23 Another 10+ fell today and still snowing at around 15°. So that brings us to around 18" for the week however it’s still nuking. Our 2′ on the ground already creates some smiles for sure. Off trail should be amazing and the trails, on point. Tonight we will cover 102, 1n, 13n, 13s, and 8e. We should be good through March! Get up and RIDE!!! <> Trail 8 is back open! This is between (Wakefield and Bergland). We were able to divert the snowmobile traffic across the road to go around the worksite.  This small reroute is marked and signed. Please use caution when crossing Mud Creek. Once operations are finished with the powerline, the original trail will be back open. You soar 80 feet above the river on a dedicated section for motorized vehicles to use, how awesome is that?! It's one of the tightest groomer sections we have that provides very little margin for error. It's also a great view of Lake Superior, the Trapp hills to the south, and really lets you know how pro-snowmobile Ontonagon is. It's a tremendous destination full of amazing eateries like Up north cafe (best pancakes on planet earth), Syl's Restaurant, GiGi's Coffee and Sandwiches, Connie's Coffee and Subs, and of course the famous Roxey's Bar and Grill! Groomer Gary is out grooming the west run which is trail 2 and 13s. Groomer Jeff is grooming trail 3 Land o Lakes to Bonds Falls and trail 2 east. Temp's remain cold with light snow seems like daily. Our operator that went up 102 last night had reported very poor visibility but once you get up in the hills, that's pretty much been a common theme this season.
