Gaylord Area Trail Report – 02/15
Gaylord Bureau – Feb 15, 2023 – 9:30 a.m. Trails were groomed Sunday night and early Monday morning. Unfortunately, grooming has been halted due to temperatures near 50 degrees and overnight rain showers on Tuesday. Trails are now in poor condition and you can expect wet spots and bare patches until we receive fresh snow. The forecast shows temperatures returning back to normal and the possibility for some light accumulation later this week. It’s Wednesday about 11 a.m. in downtown Frederic, 45 degrees out and all the pics below I took on my way here this morning. It rained most of the night. On the bright side they are claiming we should be getting wet slushy snow and most likely will have to plow or shovel so I am breaking the plow truck back out just to think positive. As bad as it sounds 3 or 4 inches will bring some riders out this coming weekend if we really get the snow they are saying. So look over the pics below and just daydream. Thanks for checking in. Temperatures also climb above freezing through the overnight, remaining there until Thursday evening. The bad news is that gusty winds return late tonight into Thursday. Snow will continue to spread across the area, leading to 1-2" of wet accumulations for many south of the bridge before switching over rain. Strong winds are expected today with gusts to 40+ mph, potentially leading to more down trees and limbs from recent icing. This could lead to dangerous conditions for those without power or a safe source of heat.
