Newberry Trail Report – Halfway Lake Resort – 03/09

We’ve had 3" of new snow and it is blowing all over everywhere, snowing now and more forecast tonight. I just spoke with a guest who said the trails are "pretty good" and says he put 130 miles on yesterday. Rode from the resort to Grand Marais and it was "thin getting into town" but doable. Says they are headed to Curtis today and "if it gets bad, we’ll just turn around."

Happy spring!

From 3/8-

Still lots of snow here in the Pine Stump/Deer Park area. It was wicked warm yesterday and we had rain last night, but our gauge still shows 14" on the ground- it is deeper in the woods and further north. Saturday the snow was waist deep. Right now it is 24 degrees and lightly snowing; snow is forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Can you ride? The trails will be icy but there is plenty of off trail riding that can be done. Getting in/out of town and to a gas pump may be difficult. Our road is covered with snow/ice so you will still be able to ride from the resort. Please feel free to contact us @ 1-888-243-4879.
