Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club – 03/02

Groomer Report:

With the 5 to 6 inches of snow we got on Monday and the cold temps the trails are looking way better. Our groomers have been out every night since Sunday and we should be able to continue until Friday. The weather reports don’t look favorable for snowmobiling after that. Let’s hope the weatherman is wrong!

We have several wet spots that showed up on trail #3 between Bruce Crossing and Rockland so be cautious on that trail. There are some thin areas all over our system but still very rideable.

The 5th annual hotdog cookout was a great success, we met a lot of great snowmobilers and had a lot of good conversations, we even have two new members. Thank you to all that stopped by!

When I report “base” that is the depth of the un-groomed snow on my yard South of Sidnaw. There is no possible way to accurately report what the depth is under your snowmobile on the groomed trail, it varies widely.

Trail #3 North to Rockland is in GOOD condition with some WET areas, use CAUTION.

Trail #8 from Ewen to trail #3 North is in GOOD condition.

Trail #3/8 from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 South intersection is in GOOD condition with some thin spots.

Trail #3 South from the railroad grade to the CC road is in GOOD condition.

Trail #8 from the trail #3 South intersection to Trout Creek is in GOOD condition.

Trail #8 from Trout Creek to Sidnaw is in GOOD condition.

Trail #8/15 from Sidnaw to the trail #109 intersection is in GOOD condition.

Watch for the groomers, they take up most of the trail and have the right of way!

Please pull over and dim your lights for them, they have a long night out there.

Use caution when using the RiderX trail maps, they are wrong! Watch the trail signs for the correct routes.

Please do not climb the “Military Hill” from the highway to the fence, we have ongoing erosion issues there and the hill climbers are adding to the problem.

Have a fun and safe trip, thank you for riding our trails and visiting our local businesses!
