Groomer Jerrod reports trail 8 east is icy with bare spots in the corners. Past Pine Stump parking lot is very thin

From groomer Jack at 88 and 43 intersection. He reports it’s thin to Sable Lake then 8 is in good shape. 89 is thin with lots of pavement showing about a mile past the Log Slide

This pic on trail 888 from groomer Phil. He says 888 and 88 are in good shape

Tiffani Bach Just got to grand marais an theres plenty of snow in the woods. Bring gas cans. Trailer out. Last chance. Last ride!! We are doing it.

From groomer Phil on trail 8 west. Said there were a couple of bare spots that are now covered. Otherwise the trail is in good shape. Of course getting into town is probably not an option.

Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 03/22

This is the Keweenaw Snowmobile Trail System Report for Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open and trails are in late season condition. Groomers are out today.

We are unable to groom on Trail #3 between the Portage Lift Bridge and South Range due to extremely low snow cover but everything south of South Range is being groomed. There are lots of areas that have bare spots and low snow cover so use caution. Snow base ranges from 0 to 24” in the wooded areas.

There is a beaver dam on South Freda that may let go soon so use caution. The area is flagged.

All of trail #122 is closed for logging.

Snowfall & Weather Report:
Snowfall in the Keweenaw Peninsula – 19 inches of snow on the ground, 248.5 inches fallen to date as of 3/17/17.
