FREDERIC / GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic – 01/01

Happy New Year, actually not to happy for snowmobilers. We do have about 1 inch on the ground right now but its not anything to ride on. The wait continues and my gut feeling is still it will be around the 25th when we get rideable snow. I certainly dont like saying that. Its was deadsville around Frederic on saturday and sunday. Not even many side bys out. So the wait continues. Went to the Frederic Inn for prime rib last night and at 8 oclock we were the last people in there. Then over to the Swamp for a little karaoke but still made it home by 10:30. So thats the opening for the new year. Thanks for checking in. Pete

JORDAN VALLEY AREA UPDATE via Jordan Valley Trails Council >> Hats off to Mike, Rich and Pete for spending two cold days fixing a minor issue found on the track of the Pisten Bully! These guys have been on the recovery and fix of the blown track and this latest fix this year and we couldn’t do it without them! Hopefully our machine issues are behind us for the year!
Our Milwaukee Tool are a key part of program. From our impacts, grease guns and chainsaws in the cab of our units, these tools make our volunteers lives easier! Hopefully next year we’ll have a building in Alba to get out of the weather. Go check out the go fund me or visit the Antrim County Snowmobile Club and help us make this happen! gofund.me/a9c1cde53
Our groomers were out all weekend making up for the down machine. Thank you to our volunteers for adjusting their schedules! Trails have come back around since we’ve received some fresh snow to mix in with the crusty snow left from the meld down. Looks like we may receive another foot by next weekend which will help build back up the trail. This week will be frigid so we will adjust grooming as needed for snowfall and temps. Make sure you check out Groomer Tracker for all our grooming!
🚧Trail 4 near the Pinney Bridge there was a car in the trail today, please use caution as the trail maybe rutted from the vehicle or recovery effort🚧 #jordanvalley #gaylord #petoskey #snowphotos

Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 12/31

SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 12/31

I’m out checking trails today, specifically around the city in some of our historically wet and swampy areas. 1st up is the trail 449, from behind Kewadin Casinos Hotel & Convention Center in the Soo. I walked about a half a mile in and back out, coming from the back of the casino. There are some spring fed streams all through here, and it is really wet in the early season normally, so this year it’s no surprise to see much of that. The water was lower than expected, and the ice over many of the frozen puddles could hold the weight of my 75lb dog. I walked through the center of the unfrozen creeks to see what the depth was, and none were over my boots so that’s good. It’s not pretty, but not as bad as I was expecting. Another week of cold and some snow will do this trail a world of good. Pics from this trail. Headed toward trail 49 next.

SAULT STE. MARIE AREA UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association >> 1/19/26
Jay and I hit the city trails last night and they are in good shape. Some choppy spots due to heavier traffic earlier, but we smoothed them out as best we could and saw very little traffic on our run.
Snow was falling the whole run and should be a beautiful ride in the morning.
Enjoy! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0119 #snowphotos
