We’re having an epic start to snowmobile season and the Gaylord area got hit with over 50 inches of snow to start out winter.
Between temperatures warming up, light rain and heavy traffic over the weekend, trails are rated in poor condition. Groomers have stopped running until temperatures drop or we get fresh snow. Don’t worry, there’s already some snow in the forecast! Check out this live feed to see trail #7, just north of Gaylord.
A few things to remember about groomers:
– Groomers are out there to help you have a better riding experience and always have the right of way. – Please move off the trail when groomers are coming and allow them to safely pass. – If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass. – Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night. – Have fun and stay safe!

I liked last wednesday way better than today. Last Wednesday I was on my sled and rode to the bridge and back. Snow was incredible and now today just one short week later things are junk. Rutty and hard with a new 1/2 inch of lake effect snow overnight. We are under a winter storm warning which is supposed to bring us 8 to 16 inches by 7 on thursday nite. That would be nice but saturday calling for scattered rain and 40 and then monday up to 50…..You cant make this stuff up. What a roller coaster. Today I am wearing my 20 year old MO MO NAH CHEE CHEE NAH shirt. I figure it cant hurt to wear the snow chant shirt. Thanks for checking in. Pete
