Cold weather and snow in the forecast all week.

Sledheads of Frederic – 01/07

Its sunny and cold out with about 5 inches of new snow since yesterday. It was snowing and blowing all day yesterday. Never did see any sleds in Frederic, I was here till ten last night and it was a tough drive home. I would say after plowing and looking at what I have this morning that it is time to go out there right now. I still wouldn’t expect great riding but it is a start. I checked out the Gaylord trail this morning and no tracks on it and also no signs of the groomer either but I would bet they are coming soon. There is a lot of snow on the trail but I don’t think so much that it would be blowing over your windshield making it hard to see. Gaylord Bureau

The Gaylord area has about 6 ~ 8 inches of snow! The area has blowing snow and below average temps. Trails were panned on Sunday Night and Monday Night. Trails are rated “POOR ~ FAIR” at this time!

Greetings Sledders

My how quickly things change. Early season reporting and groomer decision making can be tricky to say the least as a few inches of overnight snow can make a difference. We got about 3-4′ in town last night with more to the West and the forecast is now calling for more tomorrow night as a clipper swings through.

We are back in the base building business and I’m up grading the trails to fair to good. Remember our trails run about 35 miles from North to South and conditions can change along that distance but all in all I think that this weekend will be alright as a start to the year.

Sorry for the sudden change in reporting but that’s he way it goes early in the season.
