Cadillac Area Trail Report – Cadillac Trails – 02/11

February 11, 2015 – Conditions: Fair to Good – These pictures were taken during yesterdays groom on Trail 37 between mile marker 21 and 23–the northern section of our system. That section remains in beautiful shape as the pictures attest.

The mid-section, southern section and White Pine Trial remain in fair to good condition. The snow is thin in areas, snirty in others but the forest roads are great. There are areas on Pole Road that are down to bare dirt. It started snowing this afternoon and we have picked up a couple inches so far.

Sadly, we did not get any snow overnight last night as was predicted. If you are staying in town this weekend, you might want to use the southern route to access the trails or plan on using our Staging Areas. See the Staging Area page of this web site for locations. Our groomers are still running their regular routes daily.

Drummond Island Trail Report – 02/11

We have 13 inches of snow on the ground on the snow gauge right now.The trail conditions are being upgraded to GOOD until the trails get groomed from last nights snow fall.

West End of the Island : The west end was groomed on Tuesday and is in a lot better shape. With the added 3 inches of fresh snow we got last night they should be the icing on the cake.

East end of the Island: The east end was groomed yesterday and was also in good condition. Again last nights snow should be just what we needed.

We do have a few areas of logging going on right now so watch for log trucks on the trails.

NOTE: It only takes 10 mins for hypothermia to set in once your feet get wet and you are a long ways out there! KNOW before you GO!
