Cadillac Area Trail Report – 03/09

March 9, 2015 – Conditions: Good

We had 3 drivers out this morning who reported the wide forest roads are holding up rather well but the narrow trails are becoming snirty.

The White Pine Trail was groomed yesterday but is getting thin. Pole Road and the Cadillac West In-town trail are poor and down to dirt in places.

As of this afternoon, grooming is suspended until we receive some colder weather and/or snow. Sadly, 40+ degree temperatures are forecasted for the next 6 days.

There is still time for a ride in the forest but it’s hard to say for how long. Those who wish to ride would be best served by utilizing one of our staging areas near the forest like 33 Rd, Boon, or Caberfae Area off M55. Check out the Staging Areas page for directions.

To better access the forest trails, you’ll want to use one of the Staging Areas below:

33 Rd Staging Area–S of M-55–approx.. 3 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs)

Caberfae Staging Area–approx.. 12 miles west of Cadillac on M-55 (watch for signs)

Boon Staging Area–park in plowed area south of Boon Grocery

Note: The porta-a-johns were removed from our staging areas today as our contracts on them expired 3-15-13.
