Newberry Trail Report – 01/12

January 11, 2016 – Started to groom our trails last night. We received 4 to 8 inches of snow on our trails. More snow is expected to fall by Wednesday. All three trails will be groomed today. CAUTION. Due not ATTEMPT TO RIDE FROM CR 500 TO FALLS SWAMPS ARE NOT FROZEN AND TRAIL 473 WET AREA IS NOT FROZEN BETWEEN CAFFEY CORNER AND TROUT LAKE.

Extended forecast: This week colder temperatures and 4 more inches of snow by Wednesday.

North Trail #9 Pine Stump Jct./Seney/Grand Marais This trail has a logging operation about 10 to 12 miles in on the CCI road from CR 407 (Pine Stump Area). Please go slow and watch for logging trucks.

Trail #45 to the Falls/Paradise Do not attempt to ride between CR 500 and the falls the swamps are not frozen

South Trail #9/2 to Epoufette/Trout Lake Do not attempt to ride between Caffey Corners and Trout Lake in the wet area it is not frozen due to our warm weather.

Ontonagon Trail Report – 01/12

Trail 1 Porcupine Mountains to Lake of the Clouds

Groomed 1-11-16, GOOD-EXCELLENT 2-5″ base. This trail is high and dry on a seasonal road and we will not have to freeze the wet areas.
Trail 11 South Boundary Rd. to trail 102

Groomed 1-11-16, GOOD-EXCELLENT2-8″ base. This trail is high and dry on a seasonal road and we will not have to freeze the wet areas.
Trail 12 – 137 Ontonagon to Rockland

Panned 1-11-16 GOOD-EXCELLENT 2-4″ base This is a new trail out of Ontonagon it is the old Rail Road Grade that will connect with trail 13 in Rockland. The new trail number is 137.
Trail 101

Panned 1-11-16 EXCELLENT 2-8″ base. This trail is high and dry on a seasonal road and we will not have to freeze the wet areas.
***REMEMBER TRAIL 11 NORTH CLOSED THIS SEASON THAT CONNECTED WITH TRAIL 11***
For all trails below Groomers are done packing until we get more snow!!!
Trail 1 White Pine to the base of the Porcupine Mountains

PANNED 1-11-16 POOR and very wet….Any trail usage should be done with extreme care until we have better snow cover as there are rocks, stumps, branches and wet areas not covered by snow and hazards that have not yet been identified.
Trail 12 Ontonagon – Greenland

Panned 12-28-15 POOR and very wet….Any trail usage should be done with extreme care until we have better snow cover as there are rocks, stumps, branches and wet areas not covered by snow and hazards that have not yet been identified. GOING TO TRY TO PAN 1-12-16
Trail 12 Ontonagon – White Pine

Panned 1-11-16 POOR and very Wet….Any trail usage should be done with extreme care until we have better snow cover as there are rocks, stumps, branches and wet areas not covered by snow and hazards that have not yet been identified.
