Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – Sno Valley Riders Snowmobile Club – 01/31

Groomer Report:

We had a quick warmup yesterday but the temps are back down and should be colder all next week with some snow in the forecast We were not able to groom last night with the warm weather but will get back at it tonight.

Trail #3 North to Rockland is in GOOD condition..

Trail #8 from Ewen to trail #3 North is in GOOD condition.

Trail #3/8 from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 South intersection is in FAIR condition with some thin areas.

Trail #3 South from the railroad grade to the CC road is in FAIR condition with a couple thin spots.

Trail #8 from the trail #3 South intersection to Trout Creek is in FAIR condition.

Trail #8 from Trout Creek to Sidnaw is in GOOD condition.

Trail #8/15 from Sidnaw to the trail #109 intersection is in GOOD condition.

Watch for the groomers, they take up most of the trail and have the right of way!

Please pull over and dim your lights for them, they have a long day out there.

Use caution when using the RiderX trail maps, they are wrong! Watch the trail signs for the correct routes.

Please do not climb the “Military Hill” from the highway to the fence, we have ongoing erosion issues there and the hill climbers are adding to the problem.

Have a fun and safe trip, thank you for riding our trails and visiting our local businesses!

Wednesday evening update – Come ride! Trails are in pretty good shape. The entire system was groomed today, so there are 122 miles of beautiful trails to ride. South of White Cloud is getting thin, but still rideable.

When is the last time you staged at our far western point at the Timber Creek Campground? Trail 325 is one of the best on our northern system. Go West on US-10 and the campground is on the north side of the road before you get to Custer. Great access to points north. The Photo below is from that trail.

If you are coming from Grand Rapids, remember we have a few options for you to park your truck and ride into the area. Just north of Newaygo is the county Sports Park on the West side of M-37. A LARGE parking area and it is home to our southern groomer. You can also park at the M-20 staging area on M-20 just West of M-37. If you are coming up on US 131, just West of the off ramp in Reed City, there is a Park and Ride lot with trail access. Enjoy Trail 30 (RR Grade) into Reed City to the East and Baldwin to the West. Why spend time in your truck when you could be riding?

We hope to see many of you at our open house this Saturday and our meeting on Saturday evening. You do not need to be a member to attend. Come and say hello and learn more about what Trailriders does for you!
