Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 03/02

Surprise ! 6 to 8 new inches of SNOW…..The winter roller coaster continues, it really came down yesterday and while 6 to 8 inches sounds great its a pretty fluffy snow and not much pack to it. Before it ever started snowing yesterday I did see 6 different sleds riding thru Frederic.

Now for the lucky few that will make it out there today I think they will have a pretty nice ride especially seeing that Grayling hit all their trails last night. I took a picture of the trail which is below here with fresh groomer marks and nothing else just north of the high school.

Keep in mind that everything was hard and icy yesterday morning and that is still down there so I would say any ride you can do now is a great ride but I am going to rate the trails as fair because of the hardness and ice below. Will it last thru the weekend who knows, its 23 degrees out right now and calm out there.

Paradise Area Trail Report – 03/02

March 2, 2016

14 degrees this morning again and snowing……again. Looks like we got about 3 inches of light fluffy lake effect last night too.

All trails are EXCELLENT!

I have nothing more to say on the trails so lets talk about a couple things. This weekend is gonna be busy. There is gonna be alot of people on the trails….families and such…riding alittle slower than most. Lets all slow down a bit. We`ve had WAY too many accidents on the trails this winter cause of idiots going too fast and not staying on their side of the trail. There is a time and place to ride faster. Find a long straight stretch to do that….NOT IN THE TWISTIES….PLEASE. We will be grooming almost around the clock to try and keep up with the trails…..we are working for you. It would be a HUGE help that if you see us coming get to the side of the trail and stop. If you don`t then we have to. Think about this. Our shortest run is 7 hours, our longest is 12. If we have to stop a bunch of times it can add 1-2 hours on our trip. Remember we are working for you…..for free!! If you come upon a groomer from behind, be patient, we`ll let you by as soon as we can. DON`T try to wiggle around us when we are moving. That drag can slide sideways or we can catch a stump and have it hop. It weighs 2 tons and it will take you out!!!! Been der….done dat….not pretty!!

Thanks in advance for your cooperation. Have a fun and safe weekend. I`ll see ya`s on the trails, I`ll be grooming this weekend, today too.
