Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/28

January 28, 2018

18 degrees this morning and partly cloudy. We got just a light dusting of snow last night too. This last weekend wasn`t pretty!! With the Mighty Mac closed all night Friday night and the temps around 40 it was just plain ugly. The trails took a beating with the temps like that and it didn`t even get below freezing Friday night. The good news is, it looks like back to normal for the foreseeable future. The weather guessers are saying highs in the teens for the day time and lows in the single digits at night with some snow here and there. They aren`t saying how much but some is better than these 40 degree days!! Now on to the trails…..

We know they are beat right now. Its gonna take us a day or two to whip them back in shape. The Point Trails are gettin run right now. The Pine Stump trail is gonna get it shortly and the Falls trail will get run later this afternoon. We will also hit Trail #8 south tomorrow morning. I`ll talk to all these guys when they get done to give you details.

All I know fer today. Stay tuned and LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!

Groomer Chris

Sidnaw / Bruce Crossing Trail Report – 01/28

Groomer Report: The groomers were out last night and started getting the trails back in shape after that warm up on Friday. It may take a couple more grooms to get them back into shape. We are getting snow now and have more in the forecast all week. The old Railroad grade really needs some more snow.

Please DO NOT climb the “Military Hill” from the highway, US 45, to the fence, we have ongoing erosion issues there and the hill climbers are adding to the problem. YOU COULD CAUSE THIS MAJOR TRAIL TO BE CLOSED IF YOU CONTINUE!

Watch for the groomers, they take up most of the trail and have the right of way!
Please pull over and DIM your lights for them, they have a long night out there.
Remember, you can get off the trail, the groomer can not.

Please ride on your own side of the trail and STOP at the stop signs!

Trail #3 North to Rockland is GOOD, better as you go north.
Trail #8 from Ewen to trail #3 North is FAIR.
Trail #3/8 East from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 South intersection is FAIR.
Trail #3/8 West from Bruce Crossing to the trail #3 North intersection is FAIR.
Trail #3 South from the railroad grade to the CC road is GOOD, better in the woods.
Trail #8 from the trail #3 South intersection to Trout Creek is FAIR.
Trail #8 from Trout Creek to Kenton is FAIR.
Trail #8 from Kenton to Sidnaw is FAIR, better as you go east.
Trail #8/15 from Sidnaw to the trail #109 intersection is GOOD, better as you go north.

When I report “base” that is the depth of the un-groomed snow on my yard South of Sidnaw. There is no possible way to accurately report what the depth is under your snowmobile on the groomed trail, it varies widely.

Have a fun and safe trip, thank you for riding our trails and visiting our local businesses!
