Traverse City Trail Report – TC WebGuide – 12/28

Ranch Rudolph – 12/27/12

Our trail system is in pretty good shape right now. Volunteers have been busy brushing and clearing trails after the heavy snows we received before Christmas.

Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club – 12/28
Ranch Rudolf for lunch! Trails and good shape and the sleds are running! Hope to see you out there!

Temperatures have been cold and we’ve been able to maintain most of the snow we’ve gotton over the last week and a half or so. In the woods there is probably 10 inches and groomers have been able to get out to get trails packed and start establishing a base. Lots of people are out enjoying the snow and the trails. Supposed to be cold all week and flurries to light snow for the next handful of days. Trails are wearing thin on some of the corners, but are mostly covered and in decent shape.

Groomers Running: Yes

Base: 1-2 inches

Trail Condition: Fair to Good

Snowfall in Past 24 hours: Flurries, nothing significant

Grand Traverse Snowmobile Club – 3/23

Conditions: Fair to Good – Well we got 6 to 12 inches of wet snow which in turn caused a lot of limbs and trees to come down. The groomers have been out trying to clear the trails and groom. There are quite a few spots with water holes and dirt showing so be extra careful.

Gaylord – December 27
Riders have been enjoying their rides. They are reporting some snirty areas closer to Gaylord. Had a group that rode over thru Jordan Valley yesterday and they loved it!

Gaylord Bureau
Trail Report: Dec 28, 2012 @ 8:40 am

The snowmobile trails are open! Trails are being groomed. The local club has been working on getting all the trees that fell from last week’s storm off the trails! ‘CAUTION’ is advised because of the debris along the sides of the trails! But trails are passable according to reports. We have around 16-18 inches of snow in and around the Gaylord area. The forecast has temps staying below freezing. Base is unknown at this time but there is lots of snow on the trails.
