onditions are Fair to Poor, depending on woods or railroad grade. We saw some light snow yesterday but it didn’t amount to much overall. The radar shows snow moving in–it should arrive early this afternoon. Chance of snow is 100% and accumulations are predicted to be 2′ overnight. Saturday is going to bring more snow–up to 3′ and windy conditions. Now there is some chance of ice/rain pellets late in the day but it’s too early to tell just yet. Sunday shows up to another inch of snow. There isn’t enough snow for our groomers to work with today, but they hope to go out this weekend. We need 4-6′ more for the tractors to run. If you go out you won’t think conditions are that great–there are deep ruts in areas of the trail near Weber Lake so be cautious. Even though there’s some snow out there, don’t go riding with the expectation of excellent conditions. Hopefully today/overnight will bring us the predicted accumulations and turn this into a great weekend.

We have received about three inches of new snow over night. Snow showers in the forecast for the next several days, but no great accumulation forecasted. Temps will be in mid 20’s Friday and Saturday, and single digits Sunday and Monday.
The Gogebic Range Trail Authority report the groomers have been taken of the trails until we get more snow. Expect bare spots and icy corners and poor conditions.
The Lake Gogebic groomers report: They have not had much snow to get the trails in shape. They rolled the trails earlier but with the lack of snow they are unable to go out. Expect icy corners and bare spots. Groomers are ready and waiting to go out.
The Watersmeet groomers have not gone out yet, they need more snow. There is very little to no base. They are biting at the bit to go out and groom.
The 2nd Annual Radar Run will be held on Lake Gogebic in front of the Gogebic Lodge (Hwy 64) on Feb. 2nd. There will be stock and modified classes, trophies and a bikini run. Two tracks – ice and packed snow. For more info call Kent at 906-842-3324.
All areas need more snow….keep in mind groomers can be out day or night so watch out for them and please pull over or slow down and wait for the operator to signal you by.
Please be careful on corners as you know several Michigan Trail signs have been discontinued. These signs are posted on our trail map. PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!
