Grand Marais Trail Report – 01/30

EVENIND UPDATE: The Trail Boss, Norm, has released the Cats! The groomers will be heading out at 7 tonight.

You are all probably worried about the warm up we had. It got up to 37 degrees here yesterday but thankfully no rain, maybe a little misty stuff in the fog but nothing to worry about. We kept the groomers in last night and it’s cooling down; it’s 29.7 this morning and the temperature is supposed to keep dropping; staying in the teens the rest of the week. The NWS snow map shows we really haven’t lost any snow and another storm is on her way; expected to bring 6 to 12 inches of fresh snow. Things in Grand Marais are good!

Ontonagon Trail Report – Scott’s Superior Inn – 01/30

With the temps in the 30’s the last couple of days. the snow has settled, but hasn’t hurt trails they are still snow covered and being groomed, we are under a snow advisory for the next few days with a total snow fall up to 18″ on top of the 14-20″ already on the ground. Because we are down to 1 groomer, each direction will be groomed every other day, suppose to get our 2nd. groomer back next week. Looking forward to another great snowmobile season in the Ontonagon area.
