Trail and Snow Report…..Snowing Hard Right Now! Monday Early Afternoon
by Heart Lake Resort on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 12:47pm

We are getting some pretty good snowfall right now. I would still rate the overall trail system in this area as mostly fair to good in the places where they are not in the open and protected but are improving by the hour because of today’s snow. The current temp is 21.9 degrees. The bad news is that it is forecasted to be rather warm tomorrow – we’ll have to see what that does. If you ever need more information weather you’re staying with us or not or even a place to stay, please feel free to give us a call. We are on the trail here at Heart Lake Resort Cottages here in the Gaylord/Grayling area. Thank You. John 989-732-5081

Gaylord groomers report there is an icy base on the trails. Temperatures have dropped back down to below freezing. Trails should be in ‘FAIR’ ~ ‘GOOD’ condition depending on the area. As always please check back here for updates.

Newberry Trail Report – VisitNewberry.com – 01/30

January 30, 2012 8:00 A.M.

Trails are in good condition with a 3 to 8 " base. There is ice on the trail after the warm up this week. BE CAREFUL.

North of Co.Rd 422 recieved 16 to 20" of Satyrday night.

Trail #9 to Pine Stump Jct/Holland Lake staging area is in good condition.

Groomer Lou reported Trail #45 to the Falls is in good condition.

Trail #2/9 toRexton, Trout Lake and Eppoufette is in good condition over all, with a 4 to 5" base.

Be careful on the corners as they may be icy.

There is logging on Trail #45 North of Skyline Dr. for 4 to 5 miles.

Logging on Trail #498 North of Co. Rd. 455, be careful in these areas, as the trail may be plowed.

It has come to my attention that there is no fuel symbol on the snowmobile trail map for the North Store. The North Store is located at Wolf Inn Jct. They are open from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M.

We need more snow! And cold weather.

TASA is in need of a snowmobile for checking trail conditions, and get to broke down groomers out on the trail. We would prefer a 2 up. Please contact us at sledding@tasatrails.com

The cerfew for the Village of Newberry is 11:00 P.M. until 7:00 A.M.

FYI: There will not be gas at Rainbow Lodge this year as they are closing for the winter. There is a gas pump logo on the trail map, but they will be CLOSED. The map is new for this year, and I recieved the information about Rainbow Lodge after the maps went to the printer.
