St. Ignace Trail Report – 02/28

Last day of February, and the season is 3/4 over. We certainly has a slow start to the season overall, but are just raging now and rocking some of the best conditions that we have seen in years. Today’s update is no exception, the slight warm-up has not hurt us one bit, and our trails are in fantastic shape, best they have been in 3 years for sure. Word coming from riders out there is we also have the whitest trails around, so they will last and last. We have over a foot of base, and 2-6” of workable snow on top. Everything is highway flat and in good condition. We have not been widening things out, and storing snow for the coming weeks, so if mother nature keeps it below 50d, we are planning for the future. Both groomers are running a regular schedule and keeping the stutter bumps cut. There are no problems getting into and out of any of our connecting towns. The next 2 weekend will be some of the best riding that we have had. Off trail has settled some, but is still in good shape with between 12 and 30” of snow out there. I don’t have any current pics, but some will be coming in the next couple of days. Feel free to post some up!
We got a surprise 2” of good snow yesterday, which has freshened things up nicely. 5-7 day forecast doesn’t have any snow in it, but lots of sun, and just below freezing temps. Time to take the weeks sick time you have and ride some SICK trails!

Base: 12 inches

Snowfall Past 24 hours: 2 inches

Last Grooming: Within the Last 24 Hrs

Current Trail Conditions: Good to Excellent
