Indian River Trail Report – 03/25

I cannot believe I’m still updating trail conditions. The trails officially close to snowmobiling this weekend…I think it’s safe to say the season is dwindling to a quiet exit. Wooded trails are still in good shape. We saw some sun and temps a few degrees over freezing on Saturday and Sunday. Exposed areas on the grade have settled and softened some, leaving crust where snow refroze overnight. The road edges are receding now–another sign of the end. The next few days will likely be the last hurrah for those who haven’t already had theirs. Here’s hoping you enjoy what’s left and look back with fond memories on a great riding season that was LONG overdue. And for all you Van Halen fans…Happy Trails to you–until we meet again!

Base: 6 inches

We have a break from the snow today. We had gotten another 4″ of snow yesterday. Our temps for the weekend will be in the low 30’s with our night time temps in the teens. We still have great weather for riding. With our low traffic and great condition now is the time to come and have a great time riding. Our time for riding is winding down we only have little over a week left before the trails close.

The Gogebic Range Trail Authority: With daily and nightly grooming ongoing. The trailboss reported this morning all trails are in good shape. There is a trouble spot on 160. A groomer broke through a creek so use caution signs are posted.
