Indian River Trail Report – 12/09

It’s starting to look like winter out there. And it’s only going to get better! We got about 3′ of snow overnight and it’s been snowing lightly since then. We’ve got temps around 28 and are under a Winter Weather Advisory until Wednesday morning.

The snow will start falling heavier this afternoon and forecasters say we could get 3 to 6′ of snow through tonight! Tuesday and Tuesday night are supposed to bring even more snow. The winds are expected to pick up and that will blow and drift it all. Roads will likely get bad and the kids will be hoping for snow days all over Northern Michigan.

I will get an update about our tractors and post another update when I have some information. We need several inches of dense snow to support the equipment making it’s first run out. Word has it that the previously-closed Gaylord trail has been reopened thanks to renegotiated lease agreements!
