The snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are open. The groomers are out. Trails are in good to very good condition.
Trail 122 to Gay is closed for logging until further notice. Alternate routes to Gay are trails 124 and 133.
Remember to watch out for the groomers when you’re out on the trails, they have the right of way!!
The Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau asks that you stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property, do not drink and drive, and above all else, please, drive safely. The signs on the snowmobile trails are there for the riders’ safety. Please, DO NOT remove or destroy these signs.
Please be aware that if you snowmobile on U.S. Coast Guard property you could face federal trespass charges.

February 14, 2015 – Conditions: Very Good – We picked up 6 inches of snow overnight and throughout the day. It is still snowing and the heavy winds are blowing it around making visibility nearly impossible at times.
Conditions are extreme right now but they are bringing us the snow we desperately need. It’s 6 degrees now but the wind chill factor has to be in the negative numbers. Just spoke with Jim Thomas, our Trail Coordinator, who has just returned from a ride to Mesick. He said we can upgrade our trail conditions to VERY GOOD–not Excellent. He said ‘Excellent was last year.’ We all remember last year, don’t we?
