Snow accumulation: no change

All groomers are running today. The forest roads are holding up beautifully and provide excellent riding. We’re down to snirt in the heavily woody sections of trail and many sharp turns. With conditions as they are, we have to be extremely careful with grooming or we can do more damage to the trail than we do good. Where you have a flat, smooth surface like a forest road the drag generally has plenty of snow to work with. However, when conditions are like this and the trail is wooded, winding, and uneven, the drag is likely to have less snow to work with and will grab dirt along with snow. We don’t need to tell you how this can really mess things up. We need more snow to begin grooming full time.

Cadillac Area Trail Report – Cadillac Trails – 01/13

FROM Coyote Crossing – 01/13
Finally got a decent little storm in the Cadillac/Caberfae area. We have received about 6′ since last night, with another 1-3 expected today from Lake Effect. The snow started out quite wet, which should be helpful for trail conditions. More Lake Effect snow is expected for next week, as well.

CADILLAC WINTER PROMOTIONS – Friday, Janurary 13, 2012

Snow accumulation: 5 inches* Boon Area : 8-9 inches

The snow gauge is showing 5 inches of wet packy snow this morning. While the Boon area further west has a whopping 8-9 inches. There’s a possibility we’ll receive an additional 1 to 3 inches later today. The Boon area (the middle of our trail system) received 8 to 9 inches. It finally looks like winter again.
