Cadillac Area Trail Report – 01/22

Here’s the latest report from Al Green, our Trail Coordinator: ‘Grooming of the Cadillac trails started back up yesterday with mixed results. Trail conditions range from fair to good. There is some ridable snow on most trails but it is very thin in the Cadillac West business district, the White Pine trail, and in all of the heavy wooded areas.

The farther north you go (Boon to Mesick) there seems to be more snow. As always, the wide open forest roads have the best riding conditions. There is a LOT of ice under the little bit of snow so please slow down. The groomers are going to keep running until they start pulling up dirt.’

Snow accumulation: 4 to 6 inches

REMEMBER there are fewer signs in the woods this winter so when you finally do get a chance to ride, take your time and enjoy the ride. The need for speed may be costly to you and to others. Assume every trail is a winding trail and be ready for the next curve.

A reminder to those who enjoy riding the White Pine Trail, State Park officials have asked snowmobilers to ‘refrain from operating snowmobiles when less than four inches of snow cover the trail.’

Cadillac Area Trail Report – 01/20

We lost some snow over the last few days but had a brief snow storm last night that got us back in the running. Actually we had some rain yesterday and last night before the temperatures took a nose dive and brought some ice and snow. The forecast is for brutally cold temps and snow throughout this week. Hopefully by the weekend the trails will be in great shape.

Snow accumulation: 3.5 inches
